Dungeness Crabbing
May 5th, 2024
I am so pleased to announce another fun food adventure, this time in Garibaldi on the Tillamook Bay. I have partnered with Alanna Kieffer from Shifting Tides NW to bring you a unique Oregon coast experience. Alanna is a marine biologist and co-founder of the Winter Waters culinary campaign, as well as an employee of Oregon Seaweed. She's a powerhouse - is there anything Alanna can't do?! I LOVE supporting women-owned endeavors.
Alanna is passionate marine educator and will teach us all about crabbing from the dock with pots and rings. Everyone will get a chance to practice, and hopefully pull up a crab (or 5)! Then we will enjoy a crab fest in the historic Garibaldi Coast Guard boathouse, which is closed to the public, and finish with a visit to the Oregon Seaweed farm for a tour and tasting. It's a full day of reveling in the bounty of our spectacular coast.

The experience takes place outside in May on the Oregon coast - guests need to be dressed appropriately for the weather.
All guests will need to get their own Oregon Shellfish License and will be required to show it upon arrival to the event.
If we catch plenty of crabs, guests will be able to take some home! Mother nature dependent.
Gift certificates purchased for our regular Portland food tours cannot be used towards this event.
